Case Study Presentation

The framework for a circular economy is already forming in communities around the world—Red Hook is a unique coastal NYC community that is still recovering from the damages of 2012’s Hurricane Sandy. With the majority of residents living in public housing, the neighborhood struggles to appropriately address environmental justice with government funding alone. In the face of these challenges, local community groups have organized to promote and implement resiliency.
This event highlights the projects and practices in Red Hook Brooklyn that are building tools and foundations of the circular future we all know we need. Come learn how this unique community unites to share resources and ideas to make this happen.
We will highlight the work from local community groups such as Red Hook Initiative, Red Hook Farms, Red Hook Compost Project, RETI center, Resilient Red Hook, Turning the Tide, Hook Arts Media, Red Hook Justice Center, Red Hook Art Project, and us at REGENCY. Representatives from each have been invited to attend and present about their work.
Followed by mingling + Tarot and Astrology readings + Discounted Everday Goods Available for Purchase
Light refreshments served.
